March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day! In honor of this Irish saint, I thought it would be appropriate to share one of the finest examples of an illuminated manuscript. The Book of Kells contains the four gospels surrounded by fantastic examples of Insular style illuminations. Today, it is housed in the library of Trinity College in Dublin, making it the perfect part of an Irish celebration!
